Mural Director/ Muralist: Alexandra Mitnick
This mural was created by the Latino MSM (men who have sex with men) Group and HOLA (Hombres Latino de Ambiente) of Bronx AIDS Services (www.basnyc.org). It represents the issues, emotions, struggles, and triumphs facing Latino men from different countries and socioeconomic backgrounds in the midst of the 2005 HIV/AIDS epidemic in New York. The symbolism in the mural depicts the politics, history and culture of Latino gay men and is dedicated to all those suffering from HIV and those who continue to fight until there is a cure. The mural project was made possible by funding from the NY City Council Communities of Color HIV/AIDS Initiative.
